Ontario has more listed hālau and Polynesian dance schools than any other province in the directory.

Thirteen schools and groups appear here, most of them in and around Toronto, with others in Markham, Mississauga and London. Together they teach a broad mix of styles: hula kahiko and hula ʻauana, Tahitian ʻori, Māori kapa haka and mele. Several of these groups have been dancing together for decades. Hālau Hula O Walea, in Markham, is one of the largest hālau in the Greater Toronto Area, and in 2025 became only the second Canadian hālau invited to compete at the Queen Liliʻuokalani Keiki Hula Competition in Honolulu. Hālau Hula I Ka Lā, also in Markham, is the presenting hālau of AlohaFest Toronto, the city's first and only united celebration of Polynesian culture.
